A gentle owl with a quiet, watchful gaze, shaped into an elegant expression of Scandinavian ceramic design.

This vintage ceramic owl figurine was designed by Lillemor Mannerheim and produced by Arabia Finland as part of a WWF series associated with the World Wide Fund for Nature. Dating to the 1960s, the piece combines a deep appreciation for wildlife with the refined simplicity and organic forms characteristic of Nordic modern design.

Its beautifully streamlined silhouette captures the essence of an owl through a remarkably restrained composition. The softly rounded head, delicately modeled facial features, and elongated wings flow naturally into a sculptural body. The open spaces beneath the wings and the architectural shape of the pedestal create a striking balance between solid form and negative space.

A subtle grayish beige glaze covers the upper body, gradually transitioning into a creamy white surface.
