Description
A charming world of birds and flowers, captured in the rich textures and expressive colors of Scandinavian ceramic art.

This vintage ceramic wall plaque, titled Fåglar (Birds), was designed by renowned Swedish ceramic artist Lisa Larson for Gustavsberg during the 1960s. It belongs to her celebrated UNIK series, a collection of nine distinctive ceramic relief designs that beautifully reflect the character of Scandinavian mid century design.

Two stylized birds occupy the center of the square composition, surrounded by small flowers and leaves. Their elongated silhouettes, intricate feather patterns, and gently raised details create a delightful balance of playful imagination and sophisticated artistry. Warm earthy browns and soft greens are complemented by deep blue floral accents, bringing depth and rhythm to the entire surface.

The textured background, incised lines, and glossy glazed reliefs give the plaque a distinctive handcrafted appearance. Its combination of geometric simplicity and organic decoration makes it equally appealing as a ceramic artwork and a decorative object for a thoughtfully arranged interior.

The front bears the impressed LISA L. signature, while the reverse features the GUSTAVSBERG SWEDEN mark and an integrated opening for wall hanging. The piece remains in good vintage condition, with minor scratches and signs of age consistent with its history.

Whether displayed on a wall, placed among a collection of Scandinavian ceramics, or enjoyed as a focal point in a quiet living space, this expressive work offers the enduring warmth and individuality of Lisa Larson's artistic vision.
