Description
This Longquan celadon tea bowl reflects the powerful aesthetic transition of the Yuan Dynasty.
Its form—slightly flared at the rim with a firm, rounded body—embodies the shift from the refined elegance of the Southern Song period to the more robust and expressive forms of the Yuan era.
The carved wave-like motifs and lotus-petal patterns surrounding the body create a dynamic rhythm, characteristic of Longquan wares of this time.
The glaze presents a soft, muted bluish-green tone known as “funsei,” a slightly opaque celadon that diffuses light with quiet depth.
In areas where the glaze gathers, a delicate pale tone emerges—subtle yet luminous, revealing the true beauty of Longquan celadon at its finest.
Across the surface, fine crackles known as “crazing” have developed over centuries.
These lines are not flaws, but records of time—formed through natural aging and the differences in contraction between glaze and body during firing.
At the foot, the exposed clay reveals a reddish-brown hue known as “fire color,” created when iron within the clay oxidizes during cooling.
This is an important and authentic characteristic often seen in genuine antique Longquan ceramics.
Inside the bowl, a notable cross-shaped crackle (or old hairline) can be observed.
However, there is no water leakage, indicating that the glaze layer remains well-integrated or that the body has retained a highly dense and stable structure over time.
This is a vessel where material, fire, and time converge—
quietly carrying the presence of centuries into the present day.

本品は、元時代における龍泉窯青磁の力強い変化を体現した茶碗です。
わずかに外へ開いた口縁と、しっかりと張った胴は、南宋の端正な美から、元代の厚みと存在感へと移行した造形を示しています。
胴に施された波状文や連弁文は、当時の龍泉窯に見られるダイナミックな装飾です。
釉薬は「粉青」と呼ばれる、やや失透性を持つ落ち着いた青緑色。
釉が溜まった部分には、淡くやわらかな発色が現れ、龍泉青磁ならではの奥行きを感じさせます。
表面に広がる細かな貫入は、焼成時および長い年月の中で生まれたものです。
これは単なる傷ではなく、時代を経た器にのみ宿る「時間の痕跡」です。
高台内側に見られる赤茶色の発色は「火色」と呼ばれ、胎土中の鉄分が焼成後の冷却過程で酸化して現れたものです。
古い龍泉窯青磁に見られる重要な特徴の一つです。
見込みには十字状の大きな貫入（あるいは古いニュウ）が確認できますが、水漏れはございません。
そのため、釉薬の層がしっかりと繋がっている、あるいは非常に密度の高い状態で安定しているものと考えられます。
素材・炎・時間が一体となって生まれた器。
静かに佇みながら、数百年の気配を現代に伝えます。
