Description
This exquisite small plate is a fine example of Shimazu Satsuma Kiriko, created in the 2000s by the renowned Shimadzu Glassworks. The piece features a brilliant deep crimson overlay (beni), meticulously cut to reveal intricate geometric patterns that capture and reflect light beautifully.
Satsuma Kiriko glassware originated in the late Edo period, cherished for its bold colors and refined craftsmanship. This small plate embodies that heritage with a contemporary touch, offering both functional utility and artistic elegance.
